Location: ARU Chelmsford Campus

Hourly Rate: £16.19

Hours: 18.5 per week

Date of Assignment: 8th April 2026 – 31 July 2026

Working Pattern: Flexible within normal working hours (Monday–Friday 8.30am to 5pm). To be discussed and agreed with the hiring manager.

About the Role: We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Officer to join our Faculty of Science and Engineering at ARU Chelmsford. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of our financial operations and make a real impact in a dynamic academic environment.

Duties:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with university regulations.
  • Prepare and deliver management reports on budgets and expenditure.
  • Act as the first point of contact for finance queries from staff, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Manage expense claims, petty cash, and credit card administration.
  • Support audits and contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes.

Person Specification:

  • Experience in a financial environment and strong IT skills (Microsoft Office), ideally gained from education or a public setting.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
