Part-Time Gardener/Grounds Person
Our client are seeking a gardener to help maintain grounds, approximately eight acres at Great Saling, near Braintree, in Essex. This varied, hands-on role includes general grounds maintenance alongside the care of a new orchard, specialist trees, herbaceous borders and productive growing areas.
You will work as part of a very small, friendly, team, but will work independently majority of the time.
Main responsibilities:
- Grass cutting and strimming across the grounds.
- Hedge trimming and maintenance.
- Weed control, including herbicide application where appropriate.
- Pruning and caring for roses and shrubs.
- Maintaining a small new orchard and a range of specialist trees.
- Seasonal planting and changing of tubs and pots.
- Caring for a fruit cage and greenhouses.
- Maintaining the raised-bed cutting garden.
Requirements:
- The successful candidate will need a full driving licence or independent means of travelling to and around the site.
Hours, Salary & Training:
- Start date: Flexible for the right candidate.
- Hours: One to two days per week, with flexible hours available.
- Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience and skill level.
- Training: Access to an employer-funded training programme.
