We're looking for a Front Desk and Office Coordinator to join our Chelmsford Campus Team -someone who is enthusiastic and motivated to ensure a friendly, welcoming and informative central enquiry point for all our visitors.
They are committed on delivering excellent customer service standards whilst working in a democratic environment.
What you'll be doing
- Be a first point of contact for queries whilst creating a warm welcome for visitors and demonstrating a well-rounded knowledge of the Union and its services.
- Administration tasks for front desk services and supporting the Chelmsford Campus Team including, but not limited to: room and appointment bookings, risk assessments, processing finance requests, office stock management and purchases, till operations and signposting to other relevant departments.
- Liaise with university departments including cleaning, postage and maintenance teams ensuring services are maintained at all times.
- Assist with the maintenance of the student space, office and kitchen areas.
- Actively participate in delivering key campus events including Elections and Welcome Week, and assist with the organisation of staff events including meetings and away days.
- Promote an inclusive, supportive environment and encourage student creativity and innovation.
Who we're looking for
- Someone with excellent customer service experience and strong communication skills which allows you to engage with our student members; including answering queries in person and via email from student societies, academic representatives and students in need of advice.
- You are organised, approachable and patient with the ability to display discretion, empathy, integrity and confidentiality.
- Have great time management and prioritising skills which allows you to support planning and delivery of events.
- You are customer focused and flexible, allowing you to work with a range of people.
- Have great understanding and knowledge of current issues affecting students, students’ Unions and the Higher Education sector.
- Strong experience in Microsoft Office.
This is a role which allows you to meet the needs of the students where you will create an inviting and supportive work and social environment.
