Are you energised by student life? Do you get a buzz from bringing people together, launching events, and watching communities flourish? If so, we have the role for you. We're looking for a Student Communities Coordinator to join our Cambridge Campus Team - someone with a genuine passion for student experience who wants to make a real difference in the lives of over 100 societies and the students who run them.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be the heartbeat of our societies programme, the go-to person for Culture & Identity, Special Interest and Sports groups across campus. No two days will look the same. One morning you might be advising a student committee on planning a large-scale event; the afternoon could see you delivering a training session, reviewing a risk assessment, or building relationships with University partners. You’ll coordinate everything from Welcome Week to Global Week, support student leaders to create inclusive, engaging activities, and design training opportunities that genuinely help volunteers grow. You’ll also play a key role in removing barriers to participation - making sure every student, whoever they are, can find their place in campus life.
Who we’re looking for
You’re organised, approachable, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You understand what makes student communities tick, and you care enough to do the detail properly, from GDPR compliance to safeguarding checks. You build trust quickly, handle conflict with calm and fairness, and you’re the kind of person who leaves things better than you found them. Experience in student activities, events coordination, or a similar role would be a strong advantage.
This is a role with real scope. As we move into a new academic year, you’ll have a genuine opportunity to shape what our societies programme looks like; developing groups to their full potential and creating a student experience that students will remember long after they graduate. We are fully committed to Equality and Diversity, and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
Applications welcome until 23:00 on Sunday 21st June. Please don’t wait until the last moment to apply; if we have a high volume of applications, we may close this role early. Interviews will be held during w/c 29th June.
