Artsy is looking for a Social Media Manager to help bring the art world to life across our social channels. This is a highly creative, hands‑on role for someone who loves making content, is excited by visual storytelling, and wants to stay closely connected to what’s happening in New York’s galleries, museums, fairs and artist studios. You’ll be creating social‑first content from the ground up while helping shape how Artsy shows up in cultural conversations. From exhibition walk‑throughs and art fair moments to timely trends and campaign storytelling, you’ll play a key role in translating the art world into engaging, accessible social content for a global audience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of content creation, culture, and community and who’s excited to grow their voice and craft within a collaborative marketing team.
Team Context: This role reports to Artsy’s Social Media Lead within the Growth & Lifecycle Marketing (GLM) team, part of the broader B2C Marketing organization. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Content, Brand, GLM, and Sales to support multi‑channel campaigns that drive brand awareness and engagement – while staying deeply plugged into the rhythm of the art world in London and beyond. The role is a hybrid position with office attendance required 2–3 days per week in our London office.
What You’ll Do:
- Create social‑first, platform‑native content with a strong focus on short‑form, lo‑fi (iPhone) video – capturing exhibitions, events, studio visits, campaigns, and timely art‑world moments.
- Manage Artsy’s day‑to‑day social presence, including scheduling and publishing across platforms.
- Write engaging captions that reflect Artsy’s brand voice and make art feel accessible, exciting, and relevant.
- Collaborate on organic and paid social campaigns by organising assets, supporting rollouts and helping bring larger marketing initiatives to life on social.
- Support content development by coordinating outreach and logistics with artists, galleries, and creators for approved content ideas and partnerships.
- Work cross‑functionally with marketing and sales colleagues to ensure social content aligns with broader campaigns and company goals.
- Stay on top of social, art, and culture trends and proactively pitch ideas for new formats, experiments, and creative approaches.
- Track performance and surface insights from social analytics to help refine content and improve engagement over time.
This Role Is a Fit If You…
- Have at least 3‑5 years of social media management experience, overseeing schedule management and content creation.
- Love creating social content and have hands‑on experience shooting and editing social‑first video.
- Have experience supporting or managing social media accounts for a brand, publication, or creative organisation.
- Are highly organised and comfortable juggling multiple projects, deadlines, and content streams.
- Have a strong sense of voice and enjoy writing clear, engaging copy tailored to different platforms.
- Are curious, collaborative and excited to learn through feedback and experimentation.
- Are interested in art, culture, or creative industries or are excited to learn more by being immersed in them.
- Are authorised to live and work in the UK.
In your first 3 months, you will:
- Get up to speed on Artsy’s brand voice, platforms, and social workflows.
- Confidently support day‑to‑day social operations, including scheduling, publishing, and asset coordination.
- Begin creating social‑first video content using established Artsy formats.
- Build strong working relationships with Marketing, Editorial, Growth and Brand stakeholders to support campaign delivery.
By 6 months, you will:
- Regularly create and publish engaging, on‑brand social content tied to campaigns and cultural moments.
- Actively contribute creative ideas that help evolve Artsy’s social presence.
- Begin tracking and reporting on social performance metrics, using insights to inform content optimisations.
- Identify early opportunities to grow Artsy’s social channels through new formats, platform features, or audience‑focused experiments.
