We are seeking a part-time Gallery Manager to join our friendly team at Clay College Gallery, an integral part of Clay College, hosting a series of selling exhibitions throughout the year.
Part of Clay College Stoke, the Clay College Gallery showcases an inspiring programme of selling exhibitions featuring the best of British and international potters. You will contribute to the gallery's creative direction, liaise with exhibitors, set up exhibitions, manage the online shop, and create marketing and publicity content for the website and social media. We are looking for someone friendly, creative, organized, and passionate about ceramics. We offer a friendly, dynamic work environment, a competitive salary, pension contributions, and 25 days holiday per year (FTE), plus public holidays. The closing date for applications is 19th May 2025.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

About Clay College Stoke:
Clay College Stoke is a renowned, independent college teaching high-level ceramic skills in Stoke-on-Trent. It offers a two-year Diploma course, public masterclasses, and evening classes for the wider ceramic community. The gallery hosts a programme of selling exhibitions featuring top British and international potters. We are open to flexible working arrangements, including job sharing, to accommodate the successful candidate(s).
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the gallery in collaboration with the College Manager and Trustees, planning exhibitions to complement the Diploma course.
- Staff the gallery, engage with visitors, and develop relationships with returning customers.
- Curate the gallery to be welcoming and inspiring.
- Handle exhibition administration, including shipments, deliveries, and installations.
- Manage the online shop.
- Oversee gallery finances, sales reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Create engaging marketing and publicity content for the website and social media.
- Represent the college professionally and friendly.
