Leeds Playhouse is looking for a Costume Technician Apprentice to join us full-time for 24 months starting September 2025.

Leeds Playhouse seeks a Costume Technician Apprentice for a full-time, 24-month position beginning September 2025. Are you aspiring to a career in Costume, interested in all aspects of a costume department from dressing and maintenance to cutting, sewing, making, and planning, working with designers? Are you proactive, detail-oriented, passionate about how costume contributes to storytelling, and a good team player? If yes, this fixed-term apprenticeship could be your opportunity.

This apprenticeship is part of the Regional Theatre Technical Apprenticeship Programme, funded by The Mackintosh Foundation. It offers a comprehensive experience within a large-scale theatre organisation, providing opportunities to learn from experienced costume makers and designers, develop skills, and build industry relationships.

You must be over 18, locally rooted in Yorkshire, and in the early stages of your costume career, as this programme is designed as a stepping stone into the industry. This role is fixed-term for 24 months, full-time (40 hours/week), including one day per week for college or training.

The application deadline is 10am on Wednesday, 25 June 2025. First-round interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 30 June 2025.
