Job Summary
A brilliant opportunity for a creative producer to deliver a targeted project in Reading, Berkshire, whereby local communities in Reading are invited to stage an arts takeover of billboard and advertising space in the city centre.
Job Description
The Community Arts Producer will lead the "billboards" project - building relationships with community groups, identifying and delivering a project to repurpose a traditional advertising billboard site (traditional large hoarding, not digital screen) for the local community e.g. art, nature, community projects.
The outcome will be an inspiring example of how our public spaces could be transformed from ad space to creative community space.
This is a pilot 9-month project with all administration, office hours, workshops and community events based at the Rising Sun Arts Centre.
The project will establish an exemplar, to help develop an understanding of what works, and will hopefully enable the Rising Sun and partner organisations to deliver similar projects in the future.
