Head of Drama & LAMDA Musical Theatre (London)

Job Summary

CTA Performing Arts are looking for an experienced LAMDA, Drama and Musical Theatre teacher to help continue with our development of our LAMDA Drama & MT programme. CTA are a LAMDA Approved centre and the role includes entering students in for LAMDA Drama and MT exams & local drama festivals.

You will love working with 4-17 years & enjoy leading each child on their journey to reach their potential. You need to be creative, motivated, an inspiring teacher, an exceptional people person – good with clients – grown ups and kids.

This is a part-time position, with classes running on Mondays 4.30pm-8.45pm, Wednesdays 4.15pm – 9.30pm.

There is an opportunity for this role to be combined with the role of -Choreographer/Assistant Director of our Annual large cast Musical. These rehearsals take place on Fridays 4-8pm and Saturdays 2-5pm. In year one, the successful candidate will serve as the Assistant Director/choreographer, gaining hands-on experience and training in the intricacies of directing a large-scale production. In Year 2, the goal is for the Assistant Director to step into the role of Director.

The role can also be combined with directing our Teen musical, a small scale production.

Our ideal candidate

The ideal candidate would have a background in Musical Theatre performance (preferably West End credentials) and love teaching acting through song. They will be an experienced Drama Teacher and director. Ideally, you will be familiar with the LAMDA exams and have experience entering students into their LAMDA exams. Full training will be given if necessary.

Pay will be £30+ per hour depending on experience. This role commences in September 2025.
