About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced, highly-motivated, responsible, dynamic, conscientious, relationship-oriented and resourceful individual to join us at this exciting juncture as our Outreach Officer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in outreach and community work both inside & outside Northern Ireland. As an Outreach Officer at Accidental, you’ll play a key role in connecting the organisation with diverse communities, building meaningful relationships, and ensuring that our creative programmes are accessible, inclusive and impactful. This role requires someone who is passionate about community engagement, highly organized, and able to work independently while representing Accidental’s values with professionalism and integrity. The successful candidate must be comfortable with taking responsibility for the outreach projects, and will also be expected to develop and maintain relationships with external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community groups, local organisations, schools, and partner agencies.
- Promote Accidental Theatre's programmes and opportunities to encourage broad participation and engagement.
- Act as a positive ambassador for the organisation within the community.
- Plan, coordinate, and support outreach activities, workshops, and events.
- Gather community feedback and use it to help shape future projects and improve engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activity, participant engagement, and project outcomes.
- Meet agreed targets and deadlines while ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues while taking ownership of individual responsibilities.
- Ensure all outreach activities are delivered in line with safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion policies.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, arts participation, or a related field.

- Confident using digital communication and record-keeping systems.
- Flexible approach to working occasional evenings and weekends when required.
