About the Organisation
Armagh County Museum, established in 1937, is the oldest county museum in Ireland and home to one of the most significant collections outside the Ulster Museum. Dedicated to preserving and interpreting the rich material culture of County Armagh, the museum offers a compelling insight into the lives of those who have lived, worked, and shaped the region.
Its extensive and diverse collections span every era, with a particular focus on the county’s people, built heritage, and landscape. Widely regarded as one of the finest county museum collections in Ireland, it serves as a vital resource for historians, researchers, and curious visitors alike.
Since joining the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council in 2015, the museum has continued to champion the stories and experiences of the local community. With a vibrant programme of events and regularly changing exhibitions, it provides an inclusive, welcoming space that celebrates the cultural heartbeat of the region.
