Young at Art, Northern Ireland’s leading children’s arts organisation and producer of the annual Belfast Children’s Festival, wishes to find an Education & Engagement Officer to develop and oversee the delivery of our education and engagement programme. Our Education & Engagement Programme delivers a range of projects and initiatives to connect children and young people to the arts and ensure quality arts engagement is accessible to all, building confidence, imagination, critical thinking skills, and resilience.

The Education & Engagement Officer has primary responsibility for developing and overseeing the delivery of our education and engagement programme. They work with Young at Art’s Director in shaping the direction of the programme and oversee the Education & Engagement team including the Education & Engagement Assistant.

Key tasks include:

  • Working with our Director to ensure that all the projects within the education and engagement programme meet the highest standards for child-led arts education and engagement practice and deliver on Young at Art’s strategic objectives;
  • Designing project delivery and evaluation frameworks and methods to meet set outcomes and monitoring the impact of our work in youth, education and community sectors;
  • Assisting with identifying sources of funding for education and engagement projects and assisting with funding applications and reporting;
  • Line managing Education and Engagement staff, both employees and freelancers, and volunteers to ensure effective project delivery.

This role is offered as a part-time 30 hours per week (P/T) with more full-time hours workable from January to March each year. TOIL will apply for these additional hours. Your regular daily hours of work will need to be mutually agreed. Funding for this post is from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Belfast City Council, Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Ragdoll Foundation and a number of other trusts and foundations. All our posts are offered subject to the availability of funding.
