We operate at the intersection of art, finance and technology, combining portfolio management, valuations, advisory, insurance, art-backed lending and trading into one trusted platform for collectors.
We are now looking for an Auction Specialist to join our growing commercial team and help drive the set-up and growth of our auction business. This is a highly commercial role for someone with strong auction market expertise, excellent relationship-building skills and a passion for helping collectors achieve the best possible outcomes. You will source and secure consignments, advise collectors, manage artworks through the sales process and contribute to the growth of a category-defining business. Beyond transactions, you will play an active role in shaping new products, commercial initiatives and the future direction of Artscapy's auction department.
What you'll do:
- Source, secure and manage consignments from initial valuation through to sale.
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with collectors, dealers, advisors and auction house specialists.
- Identify sales opportunities across Artscapy's collector network, client portfolios and internal databases.
- Provide valuation guidance, pricing recommendations and market insights.
- Manage auction submissions and consignment pipelines.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations and advisory teams to maximise commercial outcomes and client experience.
- Contribute to auction strategy, commercial initiatives and the development of new products and services.
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years' experience within an auction house, auction platform or related art market business.
- Strong understanding of auction consignment processes, submission workflows and secondary market dynamics.
- Proven experience sourcing consignments and managing collector relationships.
- Confidence valuing artworks using comparable sales data and fair market value analysis.
- Strong knowledge of the contemporary, modern and post-war art markets.
- Commercially minded, entrepreneurial and comfortable operating in a fast-growing environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities from client, collection and market data.
- Big plus: Existing network of collectors, consignors and art market professionals.
- Experience across both auction and private sale transactions.
- Experience helping build or scale a commercial, sales or auction function.
