The Role
We are currently seeking an Individual Giving Manager. The rolewill generate, steward and develop all areas of Individual Giving income at the Welsh National Opera (WNO). Central to this job are major gifts, prospect cultivation, campaigns and mid-level giving. The postholder will work with the Head of Fundraising to devise and deliver Individual Giving campaigns, will directly line manage an Individual Giving Officer and will have joint responsibility for the Development Assistant.
What will be required of you?
- Collaborate with the Head of Fundraising to meet ambitious Individual Giving targets.
- Lead all Individual Giving initiatives (Friends and Patrons schemes, campaigns, legacies, syndicates).
- Develop and manage strategies for cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting high-level donors.
- Engage with Board members and key stakeholders to generate new prospects.
- Work cross-departmentally to produce compelling fundraising materials aligned with WNO’s mission and values.
What you will need to have?
- Strong relationship-building skills with donors, Trustees, and senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and line management experience.
- Proven success in securing five-figure (ideally six-figure) donations through effective donor stewardship.
- Structured, strategic approach to prospecting and donor engagement.

Annual Leave
Colleagues are entitled to 25 days annual leave (pro-rata for part time hours) each full holiday leave year which runs from 1st September to 31 August. Bank and public holidays are in addition to this. After 5 years, your holiday will increase to 28 days.
