We are looking for a visionary Creative Director who will not only shape Fioβs identity and position moving forward, but also serve as a cornerstone, driving the growth and vitality of the arts sector in Wales towards a more diverse and inclusive mindset and methodology. In a new chapter for Fio, we are creating a senior leadership structure that is more suited to the small size of the company.
The person we are looking for will need a strong creative background and will be responsible for re-setting our artistic vision, within the context of our multi-year funding agreement with Arts Council Wales. They will create and maintain an exciting and innovative programme rather than directing productions themselves. At the same time, they will manage the company, providing strong leadership and ensuring robust policies and processes are in place. They will understand the importance of meeting stakeholder needs and having a meaningful and timely reporting structure.
We are a small team at Fio, with big ambitions and a strong track record of delivering high quality productions and community engagement activity that empowers culturally diverse voices from under-represented backgrounds. Therefore, an understanding of the landscape of the Global Majority arts sector in Wales, and the desire to both establish and steer an inclusive organisation is key to this role, and for that reason a collaborative instinct and generosity of spirit are essential qualities we are seeking.
OBJECTIVES OF POST- Set the artistic vision for the organisation and provide creative and artistic leadership
- Manage, develop, and steer the logistical, administrative, and operational aspects of the company
- Be a powerful voice within the national agenda for diversity and inclusion in UK arts
- Ensure Fio creates and maintains innovative and industry-leading programmes and productions
- Develop innovative outreach strategies, as well as digital initiatives and artist development programmes
- Ensure Fio remains a compelling workplace for diverse industry leading professionals
- Play a key role in Fioβs fundraising strategy
- Promote and maintain an organisational culture which values the highest standards - both in executing the artistic vision and in management practice.
- Ensure the culture is inclusive, collaborative, safe and supportive; as well as artistically bold and ambitious
- Ensure that all aspects of company management are in line with the values of Fio.
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
