Band 7-8 – starting salary £18,065 (£36,130 FTE) with annual, incremental progression up to £21,441 (£42,882 FTE)

Part Time – 18.5 hours per week

Arts University Plymouth is seeking a dedicated and innovative Lecturer to teach on our BA Hons Interior Design & Styling course, joining a creative and dynamic academic team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, planning, and delivery of a high-quality interior design course at undergraduate level. If you are passionate about interior design, eager to engage with emerging technologies, and committed to shaping students\’ futures, we would love to hear from you.

Please note that an MA qualification is an essential requirement for this role.

About You

  • You will have proven experience in Higher Education teaching, in Interior Design & Styling or a related field.
  • You will have strong knowledge and experience in using CAD software, including SketchUp, AutoCAD, and the Adobe Creative Suite. Experience in teaching these programmes would be advantageous.
  • You will hold an in-depth understanding of the creative industries through direct industry experience, with the ability to apply theory to practice.
  • You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.
  • You will hold a minimum of an MA level qualification in a relevant field.

About The Role:

  • Deliver undergraduate teaching, including planning, developing, and delivering engaging learning content within the BA Hons Interior Design & Styling course.
  • Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and support their academic and professional development.
  • Engage in scholarly activity, research, and professional practice to keep your teaching current and relevant.
  • Take on unit leadership responsibilities, managing administration and delivery of specific course units.
  • Participate in student recruitment and retention initiatives, such as open days, UCAS fairs, and outreach activities.
