HE Lecturer - Interior Design & Styling

Band 7-8 – starting salary £18,065 (£36,130 FTE) with annual, incremental progression up to £21,441 (£42,882 FTE)

Part Time – 18.5 hours per week

Working Location – Tavistock Place Campus

Arts University Plymouth is seeking a dedicated and innovative Lecturer to teach on our BA Hons Interior Design & Styling course, joining a creative and dynamic academic team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, planning, and delivery of a high-quality interior design course at undergraduate level. Please note that an MA qualification is an essential requirement for this role.

About You

• You will have proven experience in Higher Education teaching, in Interior Design & Styling or a related field.
• You will have strong knowledge and experience in using CAD software, including SketchUp, AutoCAD, and the Adobe Creative Suite. Experience in teaching these programmes would be advantageous.
• You will hold an in-depth understanding of the creative industries through direct industry experience, with the ability to apply theory to practice.
• You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.
• You will hold a minimum of an MA level qualification in a relevant field.

About The Role:

• Deliver undergraduate teaching, including planning, developing, and delivering engaging learning content within the BA Hons Interior Design & Styling course.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and support their academic and professional development.
• Engage in scholarly activity, research, and professional practice to keep your teaching current and relevant.
• Take on unit leadership responsibilities, managing administration and delivery of specific course units.
• Participate in student recruitment and retention initiatives, such as open days, UCAS fairs, and outreach activities.
