About the role

Arts University Bournemouth is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic team member for the role of Student Services Adviser on a part time basis for 15 hours per week within Student Services and AUB halls of residence. Student Services Advisers are the first point of contact for Student Services and AUB halls of residence and are responsible for providing information and advice to students, together with friendly and welcoming reception duties. You will provide general student advice on a wide range of issues including financial support and bursaries; travel and transport; health and welfare, in addition to administering the University’s Access and Participation Plan.

You will be joining a team who work in partnership with students and staff to provide integrated services which support and enhance the student experience of AUB. The successful candidate will be highly organised and committed to providing excellent customer service, with strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to work effectively both within a team, and independently. The diversity of responsibility necessitates a quick thinker, who thrives on maintaining high standards of operational effectiveness even during times of extremely diverse activity. A calm and welcoming approach whilst working quickly, accurately and effectively is fundamental to the success of this role.

In meeting your performance expectations, you’ll receive an annual salary increase in line with the grade of your role. An annual cost of living uplift will be applied, the timing and implementation of which are subject to the University’s decision. AUB provides generous holiday entitlement, and you will be enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme (professional services staff) or the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (academic staff) from day one of employment. Along with subsidised bus travel, cycle to work and annual savings schemes, our broad range of benefits can be explored on the AUB careers website.
