About the role
AUB is seeking to recruit a Governance and Partnerships Manager (Maternity Cover, Fixed Term for 9 Months) toprovide high-level professional and administrative support to its governance, compliance, and partnership activities . The postholder will assist with the coordination of the University’s corporate governance processes, the assurance of compliance with regulatory frameworks, and the development and monitoring of both UK and international academic and commercial partnerships.
Previous experience of working within a regulatory or compliance environment is essential; direct prior experience of academic partnership regulation or of corporate governance is not required , as training will be given , but a nuanced understanding of regulation and risk management is crucial .
This role requires excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and exercise sound judgement in managing sensitive and complex information . The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to a culture of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all their work . They will need to coordinate the efforts of a number of teams, prompting action and checking on progress; an ability to take the initiative is essential to ensure that tasks are taken forward in a timely manner .
In both governance and partnerships environments, flexibility is important; the postholder will need to be comfortable operating with some uncertainty and will need to be open-minded and solution-focused, while understanding the regulatory and operational parameters within which solutions have to be found.
Given the breadth of the role, excellent prioritisation skills are essential, as are exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) to deliver complex information in an accessible and engaging manner .
Some travel may be required but much of work is desk-based and will take place at the main Wallisdown campus . Some hybrid working may be possible with negotiation, but we would expect the postholder to be on campus for at least 50% of their working week .
