About the role

Bournemouth Film School is seeking a Production Assistant to join an exciting and dynamic staff team of Production specialists, contributing to the successful delivery of internal and external-facing School projects, film-productions, and initiatives.

Reporting to the Head of Production & External Engagement, and working within a team of specialist production staff, you will support and assist in the planning and delivery of the School’s film-based production portfolio, including BFS Film Productions: a series of large-scale, industry-inspired, and highly collaborative film projects servicing multiple courses. In addition, you will support the BFS Funding Futures programme, which consists of the annual Alumni Short Film Fund and a growing range of additional projects, funds, and schemes. At times, this will require working in collaboration with external industry partners, alumni, course teams, and professional services colleagues.

Key duties of this post will include supporting the Production Office with their wide-ranging provision of production support. You will contribute to the delivery of seminars and group sessions provided to students on new and existing film production management processes and sign off requirements for shoots. Duties also include ensuring processes are followed to maintain health, safety and welfare, under the supervision of the Production Manager and Senior Production Officer; and providing effective and reactive production support throughout the working day.

Educated to at least degree level you will have practical experience of production co-ordination, and an understanding of good health and safety working practices. It is also desirable that you will be in possession of a full UK/EU driving licence.

In meeting your performance expectations, you’ll receive an annual salary increase in line with the grade of your role. An annual cost of living uplift will be applied, the timing and implementation of which are subject to the University’s decision.
