Job Summary

Qualified therapist with artistic practice needed for a weekly project from January 21st to March 8th.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an artist-therapist to work on our new East London Youth Troupe project from 21st January to 29th March 2025.

This role is unique to Theatre Troupe’s practice. Our artist-therapist is an artist and arts practitioner first, leading our art-based activities, including our art drop-in, and providing guidance and supervision for volunteers. Expertise is required should a child find themselves in crisis, allowing us to work with the most vulnerable and dysregulated children.

We are looking for an inspirational, compassionate UKCP, BACP, or HCPC qualified therapist who is also a visual artist and has experience in delivering community arts workshops. This may be an actual art therapist or a non-arts psychotherapist who has their own professional practice as an artist. Note that this role is not suitable for drama therapists.

Workshops will be based at Queen Mary University London’s Mile End campus.

Job Requirements

You will need to be available for ten Wednesday workshops from 3:30 PM to 6 PM and for online supervision for volunteers once a week, probably on Wednesday evening.

Training in our research-focused Theatre Troupe Model will be provided as part of your contract.

The fee for the contract is £1000 inclusive.

Please read our recruitment pack on our website and download and return the application form if you’d like to apply.
