We are seeking an experienced Operations and Events Manager to join our team and help achieve our vision. This exciting senior management role ensures seamless operations and the delivery of outstanding event experiences.

Staffordshire St. CIC is a dynamic, inclusive arts space with artists studios, in the heart of Peckham, South East London. Our vision is a cultural future that prioritises creativity over profit, and is deeply affirming of the arts\’ true value to society. We are seeking an experienced Operations and Events Manager to join our team and help achieve our vision. This exciting senior management role ensures seamless operations and the delivery of outstanding event experiences. The role focuses on the daily management and maintenance of the building and staff, as well as leading on private hires to support income generation. We are seeking a highly organised individual who can collaborate effectively with our small team and manage a varied workload with a proactive, can-do attitude.

Job Requirements

Experience managing operations and/or facilities within a public building with good knowledge of health, safety and security policies and procedures

Experience in event management

Strong business acumen and experience setting budgets, negotiating contracts, and achieving financial targets

Superb written and verbal communication, and visitor experience skills

A practical, hands-on approach

Able to work independently, and also inspire and motivate a team

Ability to set up and take down equipment and audio / visual systems

Strong problem-solving skills with ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple demands

A passion for art/music, and an understanding of the importance of culture

Job Responsibilities

Events

  • Responsible for the smooth running of public programme events and venue hires, overseeing equipment and furniture set-up/pack down, staffing and H&S needs.

Manage all aspects of venue private hire including handling enquiries, client liaison, site visits, insurance, booking schedules, invoicing, and contracts.

Operations

Duty manager and key point of contact for the building, overseeing daily operations across all areas.

Operating, monitoring and maintaining security, lighting, equipment, furniture and building management procedures and systems.

Maintain the venue and artist studios to a high standard, ensuring cleanliness and organisation across all areas through effective coordination with cleaning staff.

Manage the freelance Front of House team overseeing recruitment, training, rota and supervision.

Produce annual Operations and Events budget alongside quarterly Board Reports, and manage cash flow.
