Liquid Listening is looking for an experienced SEN/D School Partnership Manager to join us and take forward the development of the arts partnerships we have with SEN/D schools who have undertaken our pioneering Musical Hydrotherapy training.
Job Description
Liquid Listening is a charity set up to enhance the health and well-being of disabled children and adults by Adele Drake, founder of Drake Music, and sound practitioner Joel Cahen. The charity pioneers the practice of Musical Hydrotherapy and is the only one of its kind in the UK.
Musical Hydrotherapy combines the benefits of hydrotherapy for physical development, pain relief and wellness with unique technology that enables participants to listen to and absorb musical soundwaves within the water. Sessions promote full-body and mind relaxation, encourage positive mental wellbeing and offer a unique opportunity to fully relax and engage with music in a way that is all-encompassing. Working throughout the UK, Liquid Listening brings the technology and practice of Musical Hydrotherapy directly to disabled children and young people.
This is a new role, whose overall aim is to lead the development of the partnerships Liquid Listening has with the SEN/D schools who have taken part in our Musical Hydrotherapy programme, providing support to help them implement and sustain the practice for the benefit of the disabled children in the schools. The ideal candidate is likely to have gained their experience and skills through working in special education as a member of senior leadership team, although they may have also gained it through working in the arts education or health & wellbeing sectors
We estimate that in the 2025/26 academic year, 35 schools will require an in-person visit, requiring travel to those locations. Where schools are close together, visits can be arranged to be on the same or consecutive days to aid travel arrangements.
Fee: £214/day Type: Freelance contract – 48 days per year for 1 year with the potential to renew subject to mutual agreement. Owing to the nature of the role, the majority of days will be weekdays during term-time with a significant proportion being used to visit partner schools across the UK, for which travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Job Requirements

We are looking for a committed and proactive person who has experience of working in a leadership role within a SEN/D environment. You will have a passion for supporting the health and wellbeing of disabled children and adults and an interest in music would be an advantage.
Your enthusiasm, confidence and excellent communication skills will enable you to support and collaborate with our partnership schools.
Job Responsibilities
- Communicate with partner schools at the point where they complete their Musical Hydrotherapy training
- Attend the final day of training to meet staff including the Headteacher or other SLT members, ensuring the school has a strategy for implementation
- Initiate a follow up meeting (online) in the term following the training
- Visit each school in person once a year (by attending the initial training and subsequent annual refresher days) and lead meetings with key staff
- Set up and lead a meeting with each school\’s main point of contact each term by video call (in the terms where there is no refresher session), providing support for any issues the school is encountering
- Support schools to implement, helping to overcome issues
- Lead the collection of evaluation data on the day of the refresher session
- Maintain records of contact made with each school using the Liquid Listening CRM.
- Identify what additional resources would help support schools and work with colleagues to create them.
