Job Description
Mary Mazzilli, Creative Director of Lumenis theatre company, a multicultural theatre company based in Southeast England, is seeking an experienced producer for the project Lightstreams.
Lightstreams is a play about the struggle of a family of migrants based in a small town in Suffolk.
During a global crisis, the husband, a social care-worker in an elderly residential care-home, is asked to leave his wife and 3-year-old son and live in at the home. The impossible choice has deep effects on him and his family.
Lightstreams was awarded Arts Council funding in 2022-23 and has received further funding from the University of Essex. Scratch showcases of the play took place at the Lakeside Theatre in Colchester, Omnibus Theatre, and Bush Studio, London.
Now we are in pre-production for a tour/full-production.
This position is paid: £1,500 for 7 and a half days of work equivalent.
Period of employment: April-June on a part-time basis.
Job Requirements
Experience and Personal Attributes – Essential
- 5 years plus experience of working as a professional producer
- A portfolio of contacts with venues in London and/or Southeast as defined by Arts Council England
- Track record of successful small to medium tours and/or productions in venues in London
- Experience of tour booking and management
- Experience of working with new writing
- Willingness to champion inclusion and diversity
- Interest and passion for non-mainstream theatre
- Reliability and ability to work under minimal supervision
Experience and Personal Attributes – Desirable
- Experience of working with multicultural theatre work
- Based in London or Essex
