Job Description

This role is for a facilitator to work with the Culture Within Newham Children’s Board to co-create the programme and brand for a one-day summer event. The Creative Facilitator will work alongside the children from October 2025 to July 2026.

This is a freelance contract with responsibility for creating and running a series of interactive sessions with three primary schools in Newham. You will work closely with the Children\’s Board Lead at Culture Within Newham to create engaging co-created learning activities that feed into an arts and cultural community event or activity.

As a co-creation programme, we are keen that our work is tailored to the experiences, interests and dreams of our residents. As part of the shaping of this work, the selected Creative Facilitator will run co-creation sessions for 8- 11 year olds in each of our three partner schools. These sessions should be creative in nature, and will be used to gather input, feedback or contributions for our programme.

What is the Children\’s Board?

Culture Within Newham launched a Children\’s Board in September 2024 and after a successful pilot, we will be working with three new schools this coming year.

The Children\’s Board gives children the chance to decide what creative and fun things happen in Newham. Our vision? Helping children get involved in exciting events near where they live, and supporting Newham\’s future artists and creative leaders.

Fee offered: £3,000 facilitator fee + £250 materials budget

We have allocated funding of £250 per day, for 12 days of work. These 7.5 hour work days would be spread between October 2025 and July 2026. More detail on the fee structure and timeline is available in the brief.
