Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Finance Business Partner to put finance at the heart of decision making, providing advice and support to stakeholders on strategic and operational decisions. This will include oversight, guidance, and challenge to senior officers and programme managers, as well as input and expert advice on business cases.The role will ensure the business understands and delivers against risk management, finance policies, and performance KPIs through agreed change initiatives and operational areas.You will have proven Finance Business Partner experience and capability in working with senior leaders across the organisation, providing leadership from a finance perspective.You will have the ability to interpret financial and performance information in layman's terms as a basis for advising management and recommending courses of action, including the ability to translate the numbers into a business story. As well as an innovative and proactive approach to exploiting change opportunities and promoting best practice.You will be assisted in this with generous training opportunities, supportive colleagues, and ongoing guidance to help you flourish in the role.Job Requirements1. CCAB part qualified or AAT fully qualified with a commitment to become fully CCAB qualified. 2. The courage to speak up, to challenge managers and to hold a mirror to the business. 3. Ability to influence, build relationships and effectively communicate to get the message across and get a discussion going. To persevere where the message might not get through on the first attempt. 4. An innovative and proactive approach to exploiting change opportunities and promoting commercial best practice. 5. The ability to interpret financial and performance information in layman's terms as a basis for advising management and recommending courses of action including the ability to translate the numbers into a business story. 6. Sound leadership, management and communication skills. Ability to develop small professional teams. Job Responsibilities1. Supports Executive Leadership Team, directors and their teams, and external agencies with planning, modelling, and analysis of financial information. 2. Acts a two way conduit for information between the business area and all areas of finance. 3. Supports the Library in ensuring all major decisions consider: o impacts on KPIs and corporate and business plans o funding sources o capital expenditure impacts o risks and internal controls o delivery mechanisms and their governance o statutory and regulatory landscape such as tendering, legal, VAT etc. o impacts on existing or new management information 4. Support the business in regular and ad-hoc decision making including business cases, new products, option appraisals and pricing. 5. Ensure business understands and delivers against performance KPIs through business as usual and agreed change initiatives 6.
