Job Summary
We're looking for a part-time paid Volunteer Co-ordinator to recruit, train and manage our diverse team of volunteers from all walks of life. You'll help them find their place across our galleries, collections, events, activities, and you'll play a central part in making every visitor feel welcome.
Job Description
The Salisbury Museum tells the story of Salisbury and the surrounding area, a landscape that has been home to continuous human achievement for over half a million years. You will recruit, train and manage volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds, helping to bring new people into the museum and supporting them to find their place. Our volunteers help with the day-to-day running of the museum, so this role makes a real difference to every visitor. It also supports our aim to attract more local, national and international visitors and members, and to reach a younger audience.
We receive no government subsidy, so our volunteers play a vital part in our work. You will help make sure they feel valued, supported and well trained.

- Oversee volunteer wellbeing, safeguarding and health and safety requirements
- Recognise and celebrate volunteers' contributions
- Report on volunteer numbers, impact and feedback
