Senior Communications Officer, Individuals Service (ARTCF146)
Contract: Fixed term until 30 July 2027, working 35 hours per week (Arts Council recognises flexible working).
Salary: £38,689 per annum Grade C plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, flexible and hybrid working.
Location: Manchester. The role is based in Manchester and supports a hybrid work model with remote options and on‑site days 1‑2 days a week.
About the role
Lead and deliver communications around the development of a new Individuals Service. Develop and share the story of how the programme evolves, from concept to launch, and how it will support the community of artists and individual practitioners freelancing within the creative and cultural sector.
Who we are looking for
Confident and experienced communications professional who can lead on advice, messaging, planning, delivery and enhancing impact. Experience devising campaigns, producing clear content, and executing across different communication channels.
About the Individuals Service
Developed as part of the new Strategic Framework and the Independent Review of Arts Council England 2026, the service brings together and makes more visible the support and work already funded. It introduces a national funding programme for individuals, a simple one‑stop shop for artists and freelancers with improved advice, training access, and career‑long support. It is underpinned by user‑centred service design principles as part of our wider digital transformation.
