Contract: Maternity cover for a fixed term period from 02 June 2025 to 30 June 2026, working 35 hours per week. (Arts Council also recognises the benefit of flexible working as a valued part of the way we work, and welcome applications from individuals who require flexibility)
Salary: £36,987 per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working.
Location: Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham. (The role will be based at the office base listed; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members of the team, normally 1-2 days a week)

Are you keen to support cultural venues across the UK put on ambitious exhibitions for their communities? Able to take a user-focussed and collaborative approach to improving services? We are pleased to advertise this maternity cover opportunity to oversee the operational delivery of Government Indemnity.
Government Indemnity enables cultural venues across the UK to borrow high value cultural objects. If museums cannot obtain indemnity, they have to resort to commercial insurance. Each year we manage applications for c19bn of loans, saving the sector an estimated £100m. The resulting regional, national and international exhibitions and long-term loan displays provide access to a wide variety of objects from the UK and abroad to communities across the country.
Part of the Museums and Cultural Property team, this post will manage the day-to-day running of the service including supervision of a small team, assessment processes, reporting and development of guidance and training for applicants. You are also joining us at an exciting time as we develop and introduce a range of service improvements, which you will help shape and roll out.
