Overview
In this role you will lead the sound department for Paranormal Activity at the Ambassadors Theatre, ensuring high-quality sound throughout performances. You will operate live sound and manage equipment maintenance, working closely with the stage and production teams to uphold a consistent production standard. The position combines hands-on technical responsibility with departmental coordination during an eight-performance week in a West End setting. This is a chance to shape sound for a high-profile live show with a renowned independent producer.
Responsibilities
- Operate sound for performances
- Conduct comprehensive pre- and post-show checks per the operations manual
- Create and maintain the department operations and maintenance manual
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and safe to use
- Attend get-in, fit-up and get-out as required
- Prepare cue sheets and effects lists; share with Company/Stage Manager
- Manage petty cash and keep receipts; liaise with hire companies and suppliers for maintenance or replacement
- Account for and support petty cash administration for the department; obtain VAT invoices where possible
Key requirements
- Proven experience as a Sound No 1 on a similar scale production
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
