Great Show Productions are looking for a Head of Lighting to work on the upcoming production, COME ALIVE! THE GREATEST SHOWMAN CIRCUS SPECTACULAR.

Key responsibilities:

  • Attending all rehearsals, show calls, maintenance calls, get-ins, fit-ups and get-outs as required.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of all lighting equipment specific to the production.
  • Maintaining the Production as instructed and dictated by the creative team in line with the artistic requirements and direction of the Production.
  • Managing the lighting department (including follow spot operators and deps), including recruitment, line management, scheduling, recording of hours and training.
  • Create and maintain all inspection, maintenance and all other required documentation for the safe and continued show operation.
  • Operate show cues and related equipment for performances and maintenance.
  • Having a practical understanding of the Producer's employment policies and demonstrating a willingness to comply with, and implement, these policies.
  • Working in accordance with the Producer's Health and Safety policy, which may include working at height and using appropriate safety equipment and clothing.
  • Complying at all times with the rules and regulations in force at the venues under the control of the Production.
  • Maintain a safe working environment always by conforming to established safety policies and procedures.
  • Managing departmental staff holidays and ensuring an adequate level of show cover at all times.
  • Managing petty cash for your department and the timely placing of any orders for goods and equipment as approved by the Producer.
  • Maintaining good relationships with hirers and suppliers.
  • Liaising with any third party as the Producer may reasonably require for the purposes of publicising or promoting the Production.
  • Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the production.
  • Work collaboratively with all other departments within the company to meet all technical and artistic requirements for the show.

Qualifications / Essential Skills:

  • Previous experience as Head of Lighting in similar large-scale productions.
  • Previous experience leading and managing a team, including follow spot operators.
  • A good knowledge of ETC IPAF Licence for driving Scissor lifts and Cherry Pickers.
  • Ability to climb and to work at heights.
  • Leadership and ability to work under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

The Head of Lighting will oversee the installation and maintenance of all lighting equipment to ensure that all systems operate smoothly during shows and rehearsals.
