Overview
In this role you ensure the health, welfare and safety of two children during rehearsals and an overnight stay as part of Billy Elliot The Musical. You will work closely with the production team in London to supervise the children, liaise with parents, and act in loco parentis while ensuring compliance with legal performance guidelines. The position supports a high-profile theatre project during a recast period, offering meaningful impact on young performers’ wellbeing and safety. This role combines frontline care with team collaboration in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Chaperone two children during rehearsals and overnight stays
- Provide first aid and monitor health and safety of children
- Liaise with parents and act in loco parentis when on-site
- Ensure children work within licensed legal guidelines for performances
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality in all duties
- Collaborate with production team to support welfare during residential rehearsals
Key requirements
- Registration with relevant professional bodies, including Professional Chaperone license and DBS checks
- Experience in proper care of a child
- Experience safeguarding and promoting child wellbeing
- Ability and willingness to work as part of a team
- Conscientious, discreet, enthusiastic, reliable and personable
