Impact Dance Foundation is seeking an experienced freelance Finance & HR Lead for a three-month interim role. You’ll provide hands‑on financial and HR oversight and trusted support to our CEO, team and Board, helping provide stability and continuity during a period of transition.

Key responsibilities
The Interim Finance & HR Lead will provide hands‑on oversight of Impact Dance Foundation's finance and people functions, working closely with the CEO/Artistic Director, staff team and Board.
Finance
- Maintain oversight of budgets, cashflow, management accounts and financial reporting.
- Monitor income and expenditure, identifying significant variances and risks and supporting budget holders with planning and reforecasting.
- Oversee financial systems, processes and controls and liaise with the organisation's accountant and external advisers.
- Provide clear financial information to the CEO and Board to support decision‑making.
- Oversee financial requirements for restricted funding, including Arts Council England funding, and ensure relevant financial and statutory deadlines are met.
HR & People
- Act as the senior point of contact for HR, providing practical advice and support to the CEO and managers.
- Ensure HR processes comply with organisational policies, contracts and current employment law.
- Support employee relations, recruitment, induction, leavers and changes to employment arrangements, seeking external HR/legal advice where appropriate.
- Maintain oversight of contracts, freelance agreements, HR records and policies.
- Support managers with performance, conduct, wellbeing and other people‑management matters, providing a confidential point of contact for staff.
Governance & organisational support
- Provide concise finance and HR reporting to the Board and attend relevant meetings as required.
- Identify and escalat[e] significant financial, employment and organisational risks.
- Maintain oversight of relevant risk, contractual, insurance and statutory requirements.
- Support an effective handover into longer‑term leadership arrangements at the end of the assignment.

Job Requirements
- Significant experience of financial management within a small or medium‑sized organisation.
- Experience of producing and interpreting management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cashflow information.
- Strong practical HR knowledge and experience of handling employee relations and people‑management issues.
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience of working with senior leaders and Boards/Trustees/NEDs.
- The ability to work independently, prioritise risk and quickly get to grips with an existing organisation and its systems.
- Strong judgement, discretion and confidence handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial and HR issues clearly to non‑specialists.
- Experience within a charity, CIC, arts or cultural organisation would be particularly useful, as would familiarity with Arts Council England/NPO funding requirements.
