b Overview /b p In this role you will advise ISM members on professional contracts, ensuring they are paid for their work while handling copyright and AI questions. You join a respected in‑house legal team supporting over 11,000 musicians, delivering practical guidance and pursuing unpaid fees through appropriate channels. The work blends contract law, copyright insights, and stakeholder training in a dynamic, member‑focused environment. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Provide quick, practical advice to members by phone, email, and meetings on contracts, unpaid fees, copyright/AI issues, and disputes /li li Support members in enforcing copyright rights and pursuing small claims or copyright tribunal actions when needed /li li Stay current on copyright and AI law and advise members proactively /li li Manage multiple cases with deadlines and maintain professional boundaries while delivering high‑quality service /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Degree or equivalent level of education /li li At least 3 years’ experience as a Caseworker/Legal Adviser on breaches of contract and copyright /li li Proven track record of advising workers and achieving outcomes /li li Strong knowledge of contract law and small claims process /li li Willingness to learn new legal areas and advise accordingly /li li Solutions‑driven with ability to manage multiple cases and shifting priorities /li li Excellent drafting, negotiating, and communication skills /li li Empathy for workers facing difficulties and ability to address diverse audiences /li li Enjoys presenting and training non‑lawyers and maintaining a positive, can‑do attitude /li /ul ul li Interpersonal skills /li li Deadline management /li li Boundary setting /li li Knowledge of contract law /li li Understanding of copyright law /li li Awareness of AI implications in music industry /li /ul
