Overview
In this role you will coordinate CTS projects to ensure they are delivered to high technical and financial standards. You will work closely with the Head of Project Management and the Construction team to plan, organise and direct workshop activities, ensuring timely and accurate outcomes. The position offers the chance to shape scenic projects within a national opera context and to contribute to safe, efficient production workflows. This is a hands-on coordination role that combines project management with theatre construction expertise.
Responsibilities
- Quantify project information into materials and labour costs
- Ensure milestones are met within the agreed scope
- Purchase materials and services
- Generate project-specific health and safety files
- Maintain client communications in line with company values
- Support senior managers in quotations and scope documents
- Coordinate specialist contractors for timely services
- Liaise with CTS Manager on paperwork including purchase orders, invoices, and safety/environment documents
Key requirements
- Good general education with vocational training in scenic construction or stage management/technical theatre
- Experience in a scenic workshop
- Understanding of building stage scenery and stagecraft
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Broad knowledge of techniques used in scenic construction
- Experience in planning and scheduling a team of craftspeople
- Proven project management across multiple disciplines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor advantageous
- Ability to work independently and in a team; work under pressure; meet deadlines; methodical and proactive
