These pieces will tour multiple festivals, offering artists the chance to develop ambitious light art and reach large, diverse audiences.

SHINE supports artists to expand their creative practice, work at a larger scale, gain experience in outdoor festival settings, and build their professional profile within the growing light art sector.

Who can apply: We welcome applications from UK artists who are: new to working with light, experimenting with light within a wider practice and looking to develop their skills in this area.

What you get: The commission fee is up to £15,000, covering all artist fees and fabrication costs, with touring costs covered separately up to £2,500 to support attendance at up to four festivals. Additional support includes production assistance, mentoring, and training. Selected artists will receive a full programme induction, ongoing mentoring from experienced festival producers, and hands-on support with production, technical delivery, and touring.
