JOIA at art’otel Battersea Power Station in London is the first restaurant by award-winning, two-Michelin-starred Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa. We are hiring a Sommelier to join our team at JOIA, our restaurant, bar, and rooftop located on the 14th, 15th and 16th floors with iconic views overlooking Battersea Power Station.
Your journey so far … We are looking for an experienced Sommelier who will take pride in exceeding guests' expectations and be able to anticipate guests' needs and deliver a memorable experience. You will be passionate, enthusiastic and a team player. WSET Level 2 Certificate or equivalent Sommelier qualification is preferable.
As our Sommelier, you will receive:
- Salary: £32,800 per annum - Up to £45,500/annum (rate inclusive of TRONC)
- Subsidised Travel arrangements after midnight

As our Sommelier, you will:
- Recommend wine and beverage pairings to guests based on their preferences and meal choices
- Manage wine inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and cost control
- Oversee wine service, including storage, handling, and pouring techniques
- Work closely with chefs and management to create a cohesive food and beverage experience
- Conduct wine tastings and events to engage guests and enhance the restaurant’s reputation
- Ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws and regulations
