Elliptic develops blockchain intelligence technology used by law enforcement agencies, regulators, and major financial institutions to investigate illicit cryptocurrency activity. The Collection Engineering team builds and operates the systems responsible for ingesting, classifying, reviewing, and processing intelligence before it reaches the company's proprietary graph database. This Full Stack Engineer role focuses on designing internal platforms, automation tools, and services that improve intelligence collection and analysis workflows. Working alongside analysts, researchers, and data scientists, you will build software using TypeScript, React, Nest.js, AWS, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL while helping scale critical blockchain infrastructure roles that support crypto investigations, sanctions enforcement, and financial crime detection.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software tools that improve intelligence collection and analysis processes.
- Build solutions ranging from Kubernetes-deployed services to browser extensions and other internal tooling.
- Partner with analysts and researchers to understand operational challenges and automate manual workflows.
- Develop software that analyzes and interprets cryptocurrency usage patterns and behavioral trends.
- Implement observability systems to identify operational issues and support associated resolution processes.
- Contribute to platform improvements that increase the scale, efficiency, and reliability of intelligence operations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
- Experience with React and Nest.js.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with AWS, Terraform, and Datadog.
- Strong interest in cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and their real-world applications.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective software solutions and integrate multiple systems to improve operational efficiency.
- Comfortable working in collaborative, cross-functional teams on high-impact technical challenges.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present evidence-based recommendations to stakeholders.
- Ability to evaluate when rapid prototyping is appropriate versus production-grade implementation.
- Familiarity with AI tools and agentic workflows.
