Role Overview
The Global Medical Affairs Manager - WHC will be a key member of the Global Medical Team, responsible for driving medical strategy, scientific engagement, and education initiatives for our fertility and obstetrics portfolio. This role will collaborate closely with Global Medical Affairs, regional and country medical teams, and cross-functional partners across Medical Operations, Medical Science, Clinical Operations, Pharmaceutical Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance.
The ideal candidate will be a scientific leader with strong experience in women’s health, capable of fostering relationships with global KOLs, supporting product launches, and delivering high-quality medical and scientific training.
Key Responsibilities
- Medical Expertise & Strategy
- Maintain a high level of medical know-how in fertility and obstetrics and utilize it to support execution of global medical plans.
- Deliver strategic projects as delegated by the Global Medical Affairs Director.
- Serve as the knowledge center for the fertility franchise with insights on the competitive environment.
- Maintain strong collaboration with local medical and commercial teams.
- Training & Medical Education
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert, providing therapeutic area, product knowledge, and scientific training to employees.
- Develop, update, and drive success of internal and external educational platforms.
- Collaborate with global KOLs to produce cutting-edge medical education related to the fertility franchise.
- Support affiliates in content creation and sharing of best practices.
- External Communication & KOL Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with key international opinion leaders.
- Represent the company at congresses and scientific meetings according to the global medical affairs strategy.
- Leverage global professional networks to strengthen medical support for the company.
- Travel globally (~30%) to engage scientifically with HCPs and meet strategic objectives.
- Medical Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all activities comply with regulations and company guidance, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in SOP development related to medical affairs activities.
- Adhere to approved global medical affairs budgets and contribute to planning processes.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Advanced degree in Medicine, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of Medical Affairs experience in the pharmaceutical industry (or 2+ years with relevant scientific background in women’s health).
- Direct experience in KOL engagement and delivery of medical/scientific training.
- Proven ability to manage and collaborate with world-leading experts and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills in a dynamic global environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Collaborative, “can-do” attitude with willingness to roll up sleeves as needed.
