The Role
Artlist is seeking an exceptional Senior Full‑Stack Developer to join our Innovation team. In this role, you will focus on experimentation, creative problem‑solving, and rapid prototyping, helping to drive the development of cutting‑edge products for both the business and our users. As a Senior Full‑Stack Developer in this team, you won’t be maintaining existing products. You’ll be turning ideas into working software at speed – building proof‑of‑concept tools, testing new directions, and helping shape the next generation of AI‑powered creative products for both our users and the business. This is a high‑autonomy role for someone who enjoys moving quickly from concept to code, thrives in ambiguity, and loves building things that don’t exist yet. You’ll report directly to our Chief of Innovation, work closely with a senior Product Manager and collaborate with R&D teams to ensure successful handoff of projects as they mature. Norwich Office / Hybrid Location: Norwich office with hybrid arrangement.
What You’ll Do
- Build rapid prototypes: Design, develop, and deploy proof‑of‑concept solutions for AI‑powered creative tools, delivering working products quickly from idea to implementation.
- Work across multiple projects simultaneously: Deliver everything from one‑day exploratory spikes to multi‑month builds, translating concepts into high‑quality software at speed.
- Leverage AI‑assisted development tools: Use tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and modern development frameworks to accelerate delivery while maintaining strong architectural standards.
- Support project handoff and ownership: As initiatives mature, document and transition them smoothly to larger R&D teams. For some projects, such as internal tools, you will own them end to end.
- Collaborate across disciplines: Operate in a modern full‑stack environment, working closely with wider R&D teams to align on infrastructure and technology.
- Contribute ideas in a high‑autonomy role: Take an active role in shaping product direction by contributing innovative ideas and implementing them. You will partner closely with a senior product manager on a small, fast‑moving innovation team.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Has strong professional experience across the full stack
- Is hands‑on with React and Node.js
- Understands application architecture, clean code, and software design patterns
- Is fluent with AI‑assisted development and knows how to use it responsibly and effectively
- Has experience integrating AI APIs and generative AI capabilities into real products
- Has worked with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Firebase
- Communicates and documents clearly – others will build on what you create
- Enjoys context‑switching, high agility, and working across multiple ideas at once
- Thinks like a product builder, not just a developer
- Is comfortable working with international teams and high levels of autonomy
Why this role is different
Most engineering roles are about scaling and maintaining. This one is about inventing. You’ll be the person who turns “what if…” into working software that can become the next Artlist product.
