Responsibilities:
- Greenhouse cleaning
- Seed cutting
- Tie and secure plants
- Weeding
- Spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides
- Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants
- Mix and prepare soils
- Plant bulbs and seeds
- Pot and re‑pot plants
- Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings
- Apply fertilizers
- Report signs of insect or disease damage
- Assist in grafting activities
- Dig up wrapped rootballs of trees and shrubs
- Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
- Clean work area
Experience and specialization:
- 1 year to less than 2 years experience
- Experience with deciduous trees, perennials, bedding plants, ornamental trees, shrubs and hedges, seasonal plants, tropical plants
- Experience handling hot or wet/damp work environments, standing, bending, crouching, kneeling for extended periods
Equipment and Machinery Experience:
- Mechanical cultivator
- Mechanical seeder
- Mechanical sprayer
- Light trucks
Work conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- Handling heavy loads up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- Physically demanding work
- Standing for extended periods
- Bending, crouching, kneeling
- Work must be completed at the physical location; no remote option
