Inspire Futures are supporting one of our clients with the search for an HSEQ Advisor based in Southampton.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety professional, operational specialist, veteran, service leaver, reservist or military spouse looking to develop their career within Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of HSEQ activities across a busy logistics operation, helping to maintain high standards of safety, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the HSEQ Manager with day-to-day Health, Safety, Environment and Quality activities.
  • Carry out workplace inspections, audits and compliance monitoring across the site.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Maintain HSEQ documentation, including risk assessments, safe systems of work and legal registers.
  • Support internal and external audit programmes.
  • Prepare HSEQ reports, KPI information and management documentation.
  • Monitor environmental performance and support environmental compliance initiatives.
  • Work closely with operational teams to promote a positive health and safety culture.
  • Support continuous improvement projects across the business.
  • Deputise for the HSEQ Manager when required. About You We are looking for candidates with:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent) – essential.
  • Previous experience in an HSEQ, SHEQ or Health & Safety role.
  • Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience carrying out inspections, audits, incident investigations and risk assessments.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience The following would be advantageous but are not essential: NEBOSH Environmental Management qualification, IOSH Membership, Internal Auditor qualification for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001, Experience within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, transport or port operations.
