We are seeking an experienced and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of construction projects across a range of sectors and contract values. Projects may range from specialist works such as fire door installations and compliance upgrades through to major refurbishment and construction schemes valued between £10 million and £15 million.

This is primarily a site-based/static role, with the successful candidate based on a designated project. However, there may be occasional requirements to attend the head office or other company locations for meetings, reporting, or commercial reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and issuing sub-contract enquiries to an approved supply chain as well as evaluating tender returns and preparing comparison assessment of quotations upon receipt.
  • Performing value management and cost control activities for the benefit of the contract.
  • Managing the change control process, capturing, notifying, and agreeing variations and contractual claims.
  • Maintaining awareness of different contracts, ensuring all current legislations and document control is adhered to.
  • Valuing works and preparing payment application to clients and payment notices to sub-contractors.
  • Proactively managing cashflow and chasing cash collection to ensure prompt payment.
  • Monitoring and reporting forecast against actual costs and value throughout the programme of activities, including site visits where required.
  • Preparing and analysing profit, loss reports and cost savings in support of the contract and for the Management Team to review.
  • To be able to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and supply chains.
