Artisan Recruitment are working with a leading facility company looking for an Estimator to work on Data Centre projects on the facility side.
Job Type: Temporary
Location: Eastleigh or Sevenoaks (travel to customer sites required)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00
Pay: £25–£26 per hour
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence
- Own vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
- Travel mainly across the South and London (wider travel may be required)
- Occasional home working
Role Overview
The client is seeking an experienced Electrical/Mechanical Estimator to join their Estimating and Bid team, focusing on project work within data centres. The role involves managing tenders from receipt through to submission, ensuring technical accuracy, risk identification, and margin delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and compliant estimates and tender submissions
- Review tender documentation and identify risks, scope, and alternatives
- Produce take-offs, measurements, and cost plans using estimating systems
- Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Manage tender documentation, adjudications, and final submissions
- Support contract handover and mobilisation
- Maintain tender and sales data, reporting on bid activity
- Identify new business opportunities and value-engineered solutions
Person Specification
- Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
- Able to work to tight deadlines and manage varying workloads
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer-facing skills
- Experience with commercial terms, contracts, and risk management
- Educated to HNC/HND level (or equivalent)
- Proven track record of winning work in a similar sector
