Our client is a well-established Mechanical & Electrical contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial projects across Hampshire, the South Coast and London. Due to continued growth and a healthy project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their delivery team.
The Role
You will take ownership of mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Projects are predominantly commercial developments with values ranging from £500k to £4 million and include office fit-outs, commercial refurbishments, education facilities, healthcare environments and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full project lifecycle from design coordination through to commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate mechanical installations including HVAC, pipework, public health services and associated plant.
- Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
- Review technical drawings, specifications and design information to ensure buildability and compliance.
- Monitor project programmes and identify opportunities to improve delivery performance.
- Manage project costs, variations, procurement schedules and labour requirements.
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
- Oversee commissioning activities and ensure smooth project completion and client handover.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within the building services sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and commercial building services installations.
- Experience delivering projects valued up to £4 million.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project financial management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications preferred.
- Full UK driving licence.
