Artisan Recruitment are working with a leading facility company. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to work on a Data Centre project in Herts. This role is likely to go perm.

Technical Leadership: Provide engineering oversight for electrical, mechanical, and controls systems. Ensure designs comply with client standards, local codes, and international best practices.

Design Management: Review and approve design packages, drawings, and specifications. Coordinate with CAD/BIM teams to maintain accurate models and documentation.

Risk & Compliance: Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure adherence to safety-critical engineering processes, including LOTO and energy isolation.

Project Integration: Collaborate with Project Managers and Construction Managers to align engineering deliverables with programme milestones. Support commissioning activities and integrated systems testing.

Innovation & Value Engineering: Drive efficiency through design optimisation and sustainable solutions. Evaluate emerging technologies for application in data centre environments.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary technical liaison with client engineering teams. Chair technical coordination meetings and maintain clear communication channels.

Documentation & Governance: Maintain engineering registers, technical submittals, and compliance records. Support audits and ensure all engineering activities meet The client's governance standards.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Essential: Extensive experience in data centre engineering or critical infrastructure projects. Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including HV/LV distribution, cooling systems, and controls. Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex technical interfaces. Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Desirable: Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering. Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or equivalent professional accreditation. Familiarity with BIM processes and Primavera P6 scheduling. Experience working with G-Suite software.

Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to risk management. Strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels. Committed to innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

Health & Safety: Ensure engineering activities comply with The client and client EHS standards. Promote a culture of safety and technical excellence across all project phases.
