Artisan Recruitment are working with a Civil Engineering Contractor to recruit a Contracts Manager for their Energy Division based in Southampton. Following significant project wins and continued expansion, this is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio of high-profile national infrastructure projects, delivering large-scale civil engineering works across substations and compressor stations throughout the UK.

Based out of the client's Southampton head office, you will manage up to three projects simultaneously (one of the projects will be in Didcot initially), combining office-based leadership with regular site presence and flexible home working. A typical working pattern includes: days in the office, 2 days on site, 1 day working from home.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting into the Framework Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Leading and overseeing multiple live civil engineering projects within the Energy sector.
  • Supporting and mentoring Project Managers to drive high performance and consistency.
  • Working collaboratively with SHEQ, commercial, design, planning, and site teams.
  • Providing strong commercial and programme leadership across your project portfolio.
  • Acting as the primary client interface, attending meetings and reporting on progress.
  • Leading bid and tender activities within the Energy framework.
  • Driving innovation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Producing accurate monthly reports for senior leadership.
