Artisan is an award-winning mixed-use developer focused on delivering innovative and sustainable developments in Regional Cities. Artisan is seeking an experienced Assistant Development Manager to join the team in Scotland and assist in delivering mixed-use projects in Glasgow and Edinburgh based in our Edinburgh office. Developments include new build and refurbishment principally in residential, hospitality, PBSA and commercial sectors.
The role will encompass the management and delivery of all facets of property development throughout the project lifecycle, including the monitoring of business plan budgets, processing payments for approval, and liaising with our regional sales team and head office administration function.
Essential experience:- Experience in at least two of the following sectors: residential, hospitality, PBSA and commercial.
- Experience of delivering new build and refurbishment projects from inception to completion.
- Sound knowledge of building contracts (JCT, NEC etc), building standards, and the planning process.
- Sound knowledge of building construction and programme planning/analysis.
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills.
- Sound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Project skills also desirable).
- Strong team working and ability to work autonomously.
- Sound knowledge of the property and construction market and a willingness to support business development activities.
- Deputise for senior staff where appropriate.
- Responsibility for delivery and administering project work professionally and to a high standard.
- Plan, schedule and monitor personal workload and projects to meet deadlines and other requirements.
- Deliver high quality customer service to internal and external customers.
- Identifying opportunities and supporting the preparation of land/development appraisals.
- Chair (if necessary) design and project meetings.
- Assist in the development of the design to achieve cost effective design solutions pursuant to site specifics.
- Working with the regional team, closely oversee the performance of external consultants and contractors and ensure any actions/improvements to performance are carried out through agreed protocols.
- Ensure that all relevant and appropriate information/data is made available to designers and supply chain partners to enable them to effectively assess and manage risk.
- Ensure all appropriate policies for the company are followed.
- Review quality control checks, snagging and defect inspections in conjunction with agreed site quality protocol.
- Work with the regional team in the preparation and presentation of cashflows for project budgets.
- Manage budget spend and commitment for projects to ensure forecast is delivered throughout the financial year.
- Review interim valuations, cashflows and final accounts with external project teams, making recommendations to the regional senior team.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Artisan team to achieve delivery of programme.
