We’re hiring for the position of Retail Assistant across the retail departments at The British Museum.
If you’re looking for a new challenge and you’re able to commit to full time hours, following a rolling rota (4 on and 2 off), this role is for you.
The role Assisting/serving customers inside the shops with their purchases General cleaning duties in the shop Taking cash and card payments on an EPOS till system Restocking the displays Providing information about the exhibitions and the Museum How you’ll dazzle us DBS Holder (paper certificate no older than 5 years) Excellent customer service skills Good with numbers Works well as a team Hard-working Able to work under pressure Positive attitude Previous retail experience is crucial Applicants will need to be available to work up to 2 late nights per week although this may not be required that often.
Possible shift patterns are 9.45-17.30, 11.00-18.45, 13.30-21.15.
You’ll get one full weekend off per month.
