A premium beauty brand is hiring a Director of Ecommerce to lead its direct-to-consumer growth. This is a senior, hands-on role for a digital marketer who has scaled beauty ecommerce before and knows exactly what moves the needle online.
The Role
You'll own the online business end to end, strategy, performance, customer experience and team. Reporting to the Directors, you'll set the digital roadmap, hit ambitious revenue and margin targets, and make sure every interaction with the brand online feels as considered as the product itself. The role spans the D2C site, digital marketing across paid and organic channels, CRM and retention, and the operational side of ecommerce including fulfilment and stock. You'll also work alongside the clinic and distribution sides of the business to keep the customer journey seamless across channels.
What you'll do
- Own the ecommerce P&L: revenue, margin, contribution and growth targets
- Lead the D2C digital strategy and translate it into a clear, measurable roadmap
- Drive performance across the key levers: traffic, conversion, AOV, repeat rate and LTV
- Plan and oversee digital marketing across paid media, SEO, email, SMS, affiliate and organic social, working with internal team and agency partners
- Use data, customer insight and testing to make sharp commercial decisions
- Optimise the on-site experience: UX, merchandising, product pages, checkout
- Build and lead CRM and retention programmes that turn first-time buyers into loyal customers
- Manage stock flow, forecasting and fulfilment to protect availability and margin
- Ensure brand consistency and a premium feel across every digital touchpoint
- Deliver clear reporting and commercial insight to the Board
- Build, develop and inspire a high-performing ecommerce and digital marketing team
- Keep activity compliant with UK regulations and advertising standards
What you'll bring
- A strong digital marketing background built specifically in beauty ecommerce, ideally for a D2C brand
- A proven record of growing online revenue and improving profitability for a premium or prestige brand
- Deep working knowledge of performance marketing, CRM, retention and on-site optimisation
- Confidence with the numbers: P&L ownership, forecasting, contribution margin, marketing ROI
- Hands-on experience with the modern ecommerce stack (Shopify or similar), GA4, Klaviyo or equivalent, and the major paid platforms
- The judgement to balance growth with brand integrity - beauty customers notice the difference
- Leadership experience: building teams, setting standards, holding a high bar
- A bias for action, clear thinking, and turning strategy into results
If you've grown a beauty D2C business online and want to take the next step into a leadership seat with real ownership, we'd love to hear from you.
