IT Manager required by market leading, award winning, professional services organisation based in Salisbury. The IT Manager will lead the day-to-day delivery of IT services and systems across the business.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys balancing operational responsibility with technical involvement, while managing and developing a small IT support team.
The Role
Reporting into the IT Director, the IT Manager will play a key role in ensuring IT systems are secure, reliable, and aligned to business needs. The position combines technical oversight, team leadership, and continuous improvement across the technology environment.
- Overseeing the daily operation of IT systems and services
- Supporting and resolving 1st–3rd line technical issues, including escalations
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a small IT support team
- Managing relationships with external IT suppliers and partners
- Driving improvements to system performance, reliability, and user experience
- Supporting cloud-based initiatives, particularly within Microsoft environments
- Contributing to cyber security, risk management, and business continuity planning
- Assisting with system upgrades, implementations, and ongoing IT projects
This is a hands-on, operational role requiring a visible presence within the business and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
About You
- Proven experience in an IT support or infrastructure-focused role, with team leadership responsibility
- Strong technical expertise across Microsoft technologies (e.g. Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Intune)
- Experience working in hybrid/cloud environments
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and IT best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders
- Experience managing third-party suppliers or MSPs
Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (35-hour week)
- Fully onsite in Salisbury (5 days per week)
- Occasional travel to a secondary UK office may be required
- Some out-of-hours work for upgrades or critical support
